Brief Biography
Educated at the University of Sofia "St. Kliment Ochridski",
graduated in 1993 with M.Sc. in physics (applied optics). Worked
as a teacher in physics at the Secondary School "M. Gorky",
Sofia (1993-1995). Spent four years as a Ph.D. student at the
Central Laboratory of Optical Storage and Processing of Information,
Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1995-1999), obtaining Ph.D. degree
with a thesis entitled "Polarimetric and holographic investigations
of the photoinduced optical anisotropy and surface relief gratings
in azodye-containig polymers".
Worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Priv.
Doz. Dr. Alexander Ogrodnik at the Institute for Physical and
Theoretical Chemistry, Technical University of Munich, (1999-2002).
Joined DIT as an Arnold F. Graves postdoctoral research fellow
in October 2002.
Research
Interests
Research interests are in holographic recording materials
(currently - self processing photopolymers) and optical data storage
of information. Other research interests are: polarization holography;
photoinduced optical anisotropy in polymers containing azodye
molecules; photoinduced charge transfer in modified DNA and charge
transfer dynamic in dye sensitized TiO2 nanoparticles and its
application for solar energy conversion.
